Stainless Steel Knives
At first glance it is difficult to
distinguish a high-quality knife from an inferior one because the essential
characteristics are revealed only in daily use. You can rely, however, on the fact that
CutleryKnives guarantees the highest possible quality by featuring Kyocera and Avant Garde
Knives. On top of this the following quality criteria provide guidance to ensure that the
customer makes the right purchasing decision.
1. Precise workmanship
The parts of the knife are assembled without the slightest gap at the joint. This is
particularly important for hygienic reasons. Neither the blade nor the handle exhibit any
irregularities or burrs.
2. Surface finish
The blade has a finely ground surface - a hallmark of high-quality surface treatment.
3. Safety
The handle and bolster are designed to provide a secure grip from which the hand cannot
slip. An ergonomically designed handle and the right weight permit safe, painfree use.
4. Balance
Quality knives are properly balanced;they lie comfortably in the hand. Balanced weight
distribution facilitates working with the knife.
5. Cutting edge retention
Cutting edge retention is the period of use in which the blade retains its cutting
ability. A good knife keeps its sharpness for a prolonged period.
6. Corrosion resistance
The more finely the surface of the blade is ground or polished, the more rust resistant it
will be.
Ceramic Knives
Kyocera ceramic knives are made of an
advanced, high-tech ceramic called zirconium oxide (also called zirconia). This material,
which is second in hardness only to diamond, was originally developed for industrial
applications where metal components failed. Zirconium oxide is extremely hard, wear
resistant, and chemically inert. Zirconium oxide has a hardness of 8.2 mohs vs. steel at
5-6 mohs and diamond at 10 mohs.
A forged
metal blade is softer than ceramic and is susceptible to chemical corrosion. Over time its
edge "rolls" and "pits". Kyocera's zirconium oxide blade resists this wear
and holds its edge for months to years without sharpening.

1.
Ultra-Sharp Long Life Blade
Holds its edge much longer than steel. Lasts many months or years without sharpening.
2. Stain and Rust Proof
Impervious to the food acids which discolor steel products.
3. No Metallic Taste or Smell
Maintains the fresh taste of food. Won't brown fruits and vegetables.
4. Easy to Clean
Non-stick ceramic surface makes for easy clean-up.
5. Easy to Use
Lightweight and perfect balance make it a pleasure to use. |
